Provisionally passed July 11, 2019

Timeline:

In 2016 I started thinking about getting CISSP, I checked the certificate requirements, books, other people journeys...etc

I was intimidated by the books size, yeah thousands of pages is not pleasant to read.  I had initial plan to study for it during my maternity leave, yup, was a big mistake,  underestimated new...

Romans 8:28 (NASB): And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Guys/Gals,
I passed this thing June 23, 2019, and I honestly thought it was a glitch when the test ended and I saw congratulations on the paper. Truthfully, there were times I wanted to get up and wal...

I am pleased to share that I cleared CISSP on 27th May 2019 in the first attempt. May seems to be a lucky month for me as a year back I cleared my CCIE Security in May itself :).

From that day onwards, I have been receiving multiple messages from friends and colleagues who are interested in taking this exam. Thus, I wanted to share my experience on this j...

Study Resources and  some insight

1. Cover to Cover Read --> Sybex 8th edition

[Took two months to read this page by page and make notes. Some say read once and take notes 2nd time, how ever

I feel to read once and take exclusive notes to save some time for not to come back to reread again.]

2. CBK 4th edition

[Read weak domains like scan through metho...

Becoming a CISSP has been something I wanted to achieve for 5 years; which then became 6, 7 and finally 8 years. 8 years of procrastination.

Family, kids, unforgiving work; sound familiar?

My journey started with a study group which disbanded at work after a couple months. I was determined and wasn’t going to let this be another excuse not to continue. S...

My CISSP Journey

Hi Friends, I have been a passive lurker in this group for a long time . Have been thinking of doing this certification for more than 5 years but could not commit dedicated time due to being lazy and family commitments.

After changing permanent job to a contract job and only earner in family, got the motivation to commit time for this exam....

Hi everyone,

I have passed the test yesterday at 101 questions in 1h30. Here are some tips/experience which works for me (might not suitable for others so its totally your call to apply or not).

1. Try as many practice sources as you can, don’t stick with one because you will be familiar with wording style/questions and answers. Some resources I used are Lu...

A senior citizen (60+) bows to Luke Ahmed.

I have provisionally passed the CISSP exam on May 2, 2019 - 100 questions and 110 minutes. I am a network engineer who is on call 24 x 7. I have a Ph.D. and used to be a CCIE (no longer current) but never had to study as much as I did for the CISSP exam.

I followed Luke Ahmed's advice - immerse yourself in the CI...

May 8, 2019

My journey to CISSP began in December 2016. I was sent on a week's course, but it seemed more of an overview and I clearly wasn't ready. Life got in the way and I sporadically studied with good intentions, but alas....life....

So last August I decided to throw myself into it and I did....studied on the train to work, every weekend I split baby duties with...

May 5, 2019

I am extremely happy to announce that I provisionally passed the exam this past Saturday. This was my 3rd attempt and like most, I thought I would be studying for my 4th attempt during the test. Fortunately, I walked from the exam and collected my results paper. I asked the proctor to fold it for me and I walked outside of the room and into the stairwell....
